 9.51        Value of report card marks is as follows:

* In the high schools a weighted GPA gives an additional grade point to students in Honors or Advanced Placement courses traditionally taught in grades 11 and 12. The weighted GPA is to be used as the official GPA for determining class ranking, honors, etc.

For the purpose of class ranking, 4.0 is the highest possible GPA. All student who have 4.0 or above are ranked as number 1. A student with a 3.99 GPA, for example, could be ranked number 15 if there are 14 other students who have a 4.0 or above.

9.52         Grade-point averages: Averages are determined by computing the following formula:                                           

Grade-Point Average =           (Mark Values x Credits Earned)

                                                Number of Credits Attempted                                           

The GPA includes credit earned in all courses taken in grades 10 through 12, including repeats, except the driver education classroom phase. A cumulative grade-point average (GPA) is computed for high schools at the site each semester.

9.53         Cumulative grade-point average:

(This includes summer session) is computed at the end of grade 11 for those students who have a mathematical possibility of being promoted to grade 12 and again at the end of the first semester of grade 12. Prior to graduation the grade-point average and rank in class at the conclusion of the first semester of grade 12 are entered permanently on the Academic Record Card.
