Bay Area Commuter Benefits Program

  • This program is in compliance with Senate Bill 1339, enacted in March 2014, which authorized Bay Area Quality Management District to implement the Bay Area Commuter Benefits Program. The goal of this program is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and traffic congestion by encouraging employees in the bay area to use alternative commute modes, such as public transportation.

In accordance with this program WCCUSD offers commuter benefits to its employees beginning in September 2014.  All employees that work an average of 20 hours per week (excluding seasonal and temporary) are eligible to sign up for pre-tax benefits that will allow employees to pay for public transit with pre-tax dollars (up to $130/month) through a Section 132(f) plan.  If you choose to participate please work with Building Blocks for Business to sign up for the pre-tax benefit.
