Dear King Community:

I want to inform you about an incident that was reported by a yard supervisor on 1/14/22. During our morning recess, the yard supervisor informed us that she thought a BB was shot from outside of our campus and hit her foot. All students were brought inside immediately and Richmond Police Department was notified. The District safety team arrived shortly after, and we had security positioned around the building and our children were kept inside for the remainder of the afternoon. The Richmond Police Department is investigating the incident. At this time, we can not confirm what hit the yard supervisor’s foot. 

The health and safety of our students and staff is our top priority. We take these incidents very seriously. We will continue to take every precaution to ensure that our school community remains safe.

Me gustaría informarles sobre un incidente que fue reportado por una de nuestras supervisoras del patio el 14 de enero de 2022. Durante el periodo de recreo de la mañana, la supervisora del patio nos informó que pensaba que una pistola de balines fue disparada desde fuera de nuestra escuela y en ese momento algo golpeó su pie. Todos los estudiantes fueron llevados adentro de inmediato y se notificó al Departamento de Policía de Richmond. El equipo de seguridad del distrito llegó poco después. Le pedimos a los miembros del equipo de seguridad que vigilarán alrededor del edificio y nuestros niños se quedaron adentro por el resto de la tarde. El Departamento de Policía de Richmond está investigando el incidente. En este momento, no podemos confirmar qué fue lo que golpeó el pie de la supervisora del patio. 

La salud y la seguridad de nuestros estudiantes y nuestro personal es nuestra principal prioridad. Nos tomamos estos incidentes muy en serio. Continuaremos tomando todas las precauciones para garantizar que nuestra comunidad escolar permanezca segura.
