Dear Highland Elementary School Families:
It has been a pleasure to have our community back together this school year, with students and educators back on campus. We have been experiencing a heavier than expected amount of traffic during the morning drop-off this year, which is causing more traffic congestion that poses a danger to our students and staff, as well as our families in their cars. The safety of our students and staff is our highest priority, and we thank you for working with us to ensure we can reduce the morning congestion.
- Please do not double park.
- Please follow the direction of the cones and wait behind the car in front of you.
- As best you can, please have your children prepared to exit your vehicle with all the belongings they need for school.
- We noticed some parents looking for masks as they drop their children off. This is not a reason to hold up the line of cars; we have masks available at school to any student.
This morning, WCCUSD Superintendent Dr. Chris Hurst helped us out by directing traffic at our school. We thank Dr. Hurst for his time and support for our community. Here is a photo of Dr. Hurst helping us with dropoff this morning.
Please reach out to me with any questions or concerns, or ideas on how we can reduce the congestion around our school campus in the morning and ensure students are safely dropped off so they can join us to learn.

Queridas familias de la escuela Highland:
Ha sido un placer tener a nuestra comunidad unida este año escolar, con los estudiantes y los maestros de regreso en la escuela. Estamos teniendo una cantidad de tráfico más pesado de lo esperado por las mañanas durante la hora de entrada. Esto puede ser un peligro para nuestros estudiantes y personal al igual que a las familias conduciendo.
